DG rifle trigger?
Is there a consensus as to the weight of pull that is appropriate for a rifle to use to hunt dangerous game? I would imagine the usual hunting weight of 2.5 to 3 lbs may be a bit light but since I am new at this, I thought I would ask the experts.
Thanks,

michael458I like 4 lbs too, but I do have some that are a tad lighter, around 3. 4 lbs is good, make it crisp!

Idaho SharpshooterI mostly have CZs in bolt rifles, so what I say applies there. I have my gunsmith set the trigger unset at 3.5lbs, and about one pound set.
On sticks or a good rest you can make excellent use of the set feature.
Otherwise, about 3.5lbs is good.

Seems that the consensus is 3.5 to 4 lbs. Will get my trigger so adjusted.
Thanks

470EvansTypically the front trigger is a lb lighter than the rear trigger. 4#s for the front 5# for the rear would be good on a 470+.
