Ruger's 458 Lott
Called Ruger a month ago to see what is going on with the Lotts...Was told they would be making a production run in July...
So I went to my gun dealer and told him to go to the jobber and mention about the Lott's production and that was last week...Today I get a call my gun is shipped form Ruger this the first production run of the Lotts ever from Ruger...
3 rifles are coming to NE Pennsylvania and one is mine...
Boy am I happy...Now I get to spend more money for components and make some ammo and decelerator pad...

That is certainly a good news. It's good to know the rifle is finally available now. However, it is just ashame that it does not come with a good recoil pad. Please keep us posted! Thanks!

Is this the 77 Magnum or the #1? I think the #1's have been on shelves (blued and stainless) for quite a while.

Can somebody tell me why the dies from RCBS are $235.00 USD +, and the ones from Hornady are $30.00 USD +?

Glenn,
RCBS is in the biz of clipping you for "wildcat" dies, while hornady is making that as factory ammo... it's the RCBS die group. give it 6 months, it might swing around

Ruger firearms (except the No. 1, with way too much gunsmithing) are like cheese sandwiches on white bread. It's hard to get too excited about them. Especially once you've tasted better fare.

mrlexma,
While the standard 77s may be (arguably) white bread ho hum, the RSM 77s are IMHO a different kettle of fish. These rifles are NICE. I like my CZs but love my RSM rigby!
