There is the 375 and 416PGW, but any 458 or other yet?

Or 50 cal for that matter?
If this thing takes off, I'm sure we'll see a few.
There's a guy making a 338, expects to get 3400+ from 300g and 34" bbl.
Not sure I'd want to fire anything that had that much powder behind it!
I'd like to see a little .28" .308 cal made off it, just for the experiment.
Should hold almost as much powder as the Ultra. Put that in a Model 7 and smoke it.
(Of course, that's the problem for any of these 'cats: finding bolts to hold the casehead.)

Best wildcat is to use basic Chey-tac case which is long
and do what I could do, which is, my belted straight 550HE.
Case same length as my long 458HE.Building first ones now
using long Nyati basic brass.Ed.

I don't know what the capacity is on the CheyTac but a 338 300 gr. bullet at 3400+ isn't that impressive, atleast it doesn't seem like it's as fast as it should be. Give me 5 more inches of barrel on my 338/378 (which would make 34 inches) and I could probably get there. Could be that the 338 just isn't an efficient bullet combo for that case though.

At .408 it is close to overbore. If used for my 550HE
it would get a 500 gr bullet up near the 3400 mark. That
is wildcatting to me...Ed

Ed what ballistics do you reckon for a 458 version of the chey tac? 2750fps with 500gn at normal barrel length(26")?

Karl-Yes it should do 2800 with 500 gr.I have been
checking on getting Cheytac basic long cases, and hope to
be able to get it.Ed.
