T manBig Bore Build
I wanted to know what you gentelmen thought about Montana Rifle Co actions and complete guns?

SevensThey're a M70 clone more or less. Would make a great action for any cartridge that can fit in the long action (375 H&H, 404 Jeffery, 416 Rem, 458 Win/Lott, etc). If you want a cartridge like a 416 Rigby or 505 Gibbs, you might want to get a CZ or GMA action as the MRC PH action is just slowly starting to trickle out to customers who placed their order eons ago.

375fanI like the MRC actions, have had a 404Jeffrey and my latest 375hnh built on them( not built by MRC). The actions need a little smoothing up but a good gunsmith can take care of that. Actually have an action getting ready for another project. As stated by another member they are basically m70 clones, so there are a lot of after market stuff available.

T manI'm finishing college but when I'm done I would like to build a .495 A-square

ptaylorI've been down this road. Do yourself a favor and look really closely at the 500ar. Its everything the 495 is minus the belt, you can form cases from hornady 416 rigby brass. Just do a search for 500ar.

viperidaeProblem with the .495A2 is the .500A2. The .495 is a great cartridge but the .500 gets all the attention. Brass and reamers for the .500 are easy to get, I couldn't find any for the .495 when I looked. Some advertised it but it wasn't in stock.
And a second vote for the .500AR! It fits in an equal quality but much less expensive action then the .500 does.
