I'm about to sell my dies,brass,and 135+pc of factory ammo including my
Belgium made Browning Safari in .458 Win Mag. What should I ask for the rifle by itself?
A gun show is coming up and im going to bring it along with me and try to sell it. I am really wanting an M1A
Or a 6,5-20x50 silver Ziess Conquest.
The gun is very clean, 95%+ with the short sako extractor.
What should I sell for?

Rodney H.{500Jeffery}My Browning safari "FN" 30-06 sold for 1K but was in excellant near new condition, so the .458 should command a premium over any standard caliber. It's a shame your selling it, maybe you should reconsider. R.

as long as its not one with the salt wood stocks.

GarByI'd suggest looking at Champlins, gunsinternational, gunsamerica etc. and see if anyone is selling, or has sold a similar piece. Good starting point anyway. If you're selling at a local show, I would expect demand, and therefore price, might be a bit lower.
Good luck....it sounds like a nice piece.

Rodney H.{500Jeffery}Had to look closer to see if it had the long extractor, according to the blue book add 15% for magnum long extactor. From the serial number configuration it appears to have been manufactured in 1963. Some of the "salt" wood models had some pitting in the reciever under the stock. If there is no sign of corrosion I wouldn't worry about it. Rodney.

KSTEPHENSif the rifles got the saltwood stock, but has spent its life in midland, i doubt theres much corrosion to speak of.

It is amazing how many auction site sellers are trying to hide the fact that their Safaris are push feeds.

maddenwhPut it on the classified section here on AR (assuming you haven't already). You shouldn't have any problem selling that anyways. But, like everyone else has suggested, don't get rid of it. Wait until you get your tax refunds or a winning lotto ticket before you get the scope and keep the gun. Hell, sell the tires off your car before you sell that gun.

AtkinsonSince nobody quoted you a price, I would suggest you start at $1200. The gun is not mint and shows some honest wear and it has the short extractor and thats not desirable..I think $1000 to $1200 would sell it pretty fast...If your not in a hurry then try $1500.
