new rifle on the way..............

got started today on a new gun.... p17 eddystone action.... timney trigger... shilen #5 contour... 20"bbl...negc front sight and rear adjustable....barrel band front sling swivel....parkerized finish..... almost forgot...

.... .416 taylor..... tip burns in canyon lake is doing the work.....

go big or go home ........

Jim,

Congrats. Great action, great caliber and great gunsmith. I need to make sure that Tip understands that he needs to finish my .404 Jeffery first though.

don't worry, he put me in line... i saw your springfield .458 too..... he'll order the barrel next week... he had a #7 contour .416 barrel, but after we weighed the barrel blank, i decided that the #5 was a better choice... now i need to find a mcmillan stock for an enfield.... he told me that there was a 13 week wait....

now i need to find a synthetic stock..... i called macmillan today, and was told that they DO NOT make a stock for the eddystone enfield... i guess thats why i couldn't find it on their website last night.... B&C makes 1, but on the advice of several people i respect, it IS NOT an option.... i don't want wood, as this is a truck/inclimate weather gun....brownells offers a wood stock for around $80.... cheap, so who knows???....i'll consider a laminate if it will hold up without looking beat-up.....anybody got suggestions????

You'd better be a skilled fiberglass boat builder/repairman if you are going to use an MPI stock. I have done it once, and will not do it again.

ring stuart satterlee and ask him if he will inlett a mcmillan blank for you, if you order a blank from mcmillan the wait time is only six weeks
thats what stuart is doing for me for my M 98 actions!

there is a .458 win mag on a gorgeous 03a3 there.... perhaps the owner will chime in??? mr mjines????.... if i weren't such an enfield fan, i'd be doing springfields... they make nice 1's....
