Kjell Tonheim - Gunsmith
Does anyone have any experience and pictures of his work. What kind of actions he uses, etc. Just general knowledge of his work. I believe he is in Norway. Thanks for the help.

Metric -- Thank you very much for the reply the only problem is I don't read Norwegian. Are there any English language sites? Does he build rifles or is he a dealer?

Google translate at least makes it readable: http://translate.google.com.au...FJaktvaapen_bygg.htm

He builds rifles from scratch. He also have a very good custom copper hunting bullet.

You should also check out this guy:

Had him build me a very nice M98 in 9,3x64.
He's a specialist on the classic english pre-WW2 style rifles.

Kjell speaks fluent English and he was at the last SHOT show. You can contact him on e-mail or on Facebook. He is usually very prompt in replying.

Thank you all for your responses. I was just curious about him as he has made a 416 Rigby for a young friend of mine in Zimbabwe. The pictures look nice, but don't know what kind of action, wood, etc. Just curious about the quality of his work. The google translation I had already tried but it is harder to make sense of than the Norwegian original language.

I know Kjell and have hunted with him in Limpopo.
He bought a truckload of the SA Vector actions as Northman mentioned.
He is a keen big bore guy, but I suppose he can build whatever you desire.

I have seen some of his guns, and they are very well made, both the metal and the wood.

About the translation, think Afrikaans or German when reading Norwegian, it my make more sense than the Google stuff.. Wink

Try to contact him by e-mail, he is fluent in Enlish: armsammo@arms-ammo.no

Again ,thanks all for your replies. Mr. Tonheim has contacted me and I am most impressed with his plans for the future. It's nice to know the Vector actions went to a good user who appreciated them. My Afrikaans and German are mediocre to fair so I will approach Norwegian from that angle.
