RIPBTT for Mickey and NE 450 No2.
My barrels still cross at 50 meters and I like it that way.

Great article. I am a believer. I have taken two animals a fairly long range for a double with my 9,3x74R. A coyote in TX at 291 yards, and a Kudu in Zimbabwe at a little over 300.
A double rifle is the BEST hunting rifle on the planet for all but, maybe high country mountain game.

The bbls on all 3 of my doubles do not cross out to 300 yards, that is as far as I have shot them.

mehulkamdarNickudu and RIP,
This article brought back memories of a really nice Westley Richards double rifle in 250-3000 that I saw many years ago at a shop in Mumbai. I couldn't afford to buy it then and I certainly cannot now

but it was a revelation to read how accurate the old timers made these rifles.
Thanks for taking the effort to give us these gems!

A good article for those that think Doubles are only for big things close up. They are also for little things far away.

Enough of the old wives tales and oft repeated rumours.
RIP
Crossed legs, crossed eyes, crossed barrels. Whatever turns your crank.
