SnowwolfeToday the gun gods smiled upon me
Walked into a local shop I stop at occassionly to view the displays and drink some coffee. In the rack was a brand new Win Model 70 375 Left Hand Safari Classic. This one even had the new adjustable rear sight and the barrel mounted sling stud. Best of all it had the same price before Winchester announced they would not being making any more model 70's (at least for a while).
It followed me out to the car and now is in the safe.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.
Coffee? Hmmm ... Great Northern Guns or Boondock?
Great snag.

Snowolff..you have been on a roll of late!
Good for you

Makes good sense gunny. Winchester is doing some wierd stuff. They did not have this rifle at this store two weeks ago. Salesman told me it just came in directly from Winchester. Go fiqure. But there is still hope out there for people trying to find big bores. Make the rounds often. And to make matters even nicer when I was paying for the rifle I happened to look down to see a sign saying all military received 5% off any gun purchase. I asked if this applied to retired military as well and they said yes!
But their selection of other Model 70's was really slim, just a few short magnums in 270 and 7 mm.

Oh man I have been trolling for one in local shops here for a while. I need one for my lefty son for our trip in 07. So since you really don't NEED this gun, please forward to me so that it will be abused by my 14 year old.

Great catch.

Don't give up. This rifle has a label on the back of the box indicating it was either built or shipped to the dist in Alaska on 18 Feb 06.

Snow,
Even more reason to sell this gun to me for my poor deprieved kid who needs a 375 H&H. Where is your sense of guilt sir. Think of it, a poor kid, no 375 H&H to go on his first trip to Africa. It is just a travesty. Glad to hear about your Hein. Good for you. Take it easy.

Paul HMoutain view does occasionally have some suprises of good deals. I picked up my contender frame there years ago, they had the best price in town.
Good going on the lefty 375, I know lefties have a hard time finding anyting, and it sounds like you really scored on that one!
