Zigfreedwhich gun?
I just bought a 378 WM to take to Africa with a muzzle break. It is like shooting a 338 win mag now and quite controllable. Just think that the weatherby should be exchanged for something a little more up class. I have looked at the cooper, heym and dakota they are all good guns, the heym would be my pick being it has input from Ralph Martini now. Maybe just have Ralph build one of his own designs, bolt action though not a single shot although anyone who has seen Ralph's creations can tell you they are worth every penny. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Take off the muzzle break and it should be more "up class". The 378 is more than capable of taking everything you want in Africa, plus, learning to shoot it without a muzzle break will be appreciated by anyone within earshot.

Sounds like a good plan.
Ralf built me a 404 Jeffery, on a Granite Mountain Action, last year and I am more than pleased. Handles and balances perfectly and at 8.25 lbs bare easy to carry all day.
Fortunately, I have a couple more rifles on order with Ralf....I highly recommend Ralf Martini. He and Mandy are a pleasure to deal with...
