Retro Caliber / Zastava Jeffery?
Zastava 375

Has anyone built a 404J on the Zastava enlarged action? If so, what issues cropped up during the build? I understand the action isn't really any larger, just relieved in the magazine area?

Cheers,
Bryce

You are correct. Also the 375 length is a little bit longer than needed for the 404. Also the magazine is too narrow as are the feed rails.

Also, they have a misprint on their list. The 458 uses the same action as the 300wm and 7mmRM, not the 375 length....

Since you are going to have to open the rails and boltface and replace the bottom-metal
you might want to start with the 30-06 size.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.
