reddy375Dumoulin rifles?
Can anyone share any knowledge on Dumoulin rifles. I am talking about the older ones, some are marked H. Dumoulin, while others are F. Dumoulin! I have also heard of Ernst Dumoulin who was supposedly the son of Henri Doumoulin and then there is Henri and Fils Dumoulin!!
Any help would be appreciated.
Are they good rifles?
Thanks,

browningguyWell here is as I know it. Henri is the original Dumoulin rifle builder, should be marked Milmort-Liege I think. Henri built very high quality rifles essentially to order, using mostly FN actions. In the early 60's I know of at least 1 Dumoulin built on a Spanish action, but still put togehter very well. Both of mine have been very good shooters although they are plain grade guns.
The later guns, post-Henri, can be very fancy and expensive rifles. I haven't had a chance to shoot one of the newer ones so can't comment on them. I would ask this question in the European hunting forums also, several of the guys there can give you more info on the current companies quality.

tomo577I met ernst dumolin about 6 years ago in his belgium workshop. things had not been going very well for him. the biggest business he had going was "customizing " some kind of assault rifles - incl chrome plating ! for some arab nabob or shiek or whatever.
this shows how sad gunmaking has become in liege, and all of belgium,
now dumoulin is making bolt action rifles that are being advertised and sold here in usa under a name other than dumolin, but the ads state that dumoulin is the maker.
glad to see he has been ablre to survive. i hope he can prosper !
