SocratesCZ in 375, for $550.00?
Hi
I went down to take my handgun test in Kalifornia, and the guy had a new CZ 375 H&H
for 550. It has a really nice trigger pull, with a little switch that gives you a match grade trigger.
Has anyone used these? Good price?
Worth the money?
What barrel length for a 375 is advised?
It looks like a copy of a Mauser 98, so I gather it's real strong?
Thanks

D HunterSocrates, the CZ is a good strong action. Some say they don't like the stock as it doesn't look american. Whale back kind of looking. I didn't mind the shape of the stock on mine. It is said that this drop in hte stock contributes to felt recoil. In 416 Rigby there was recoil to spare. Some also say that there is not quite the quality of fit/finish as on a more expensive rifle. There is probably truth to that also. At this point in my hunting and shooting life I consider a gun purchase as a platform to build upon unless it is a collectors piece to begin with. If I don't like the stock or the barrel or the bedding or whatever I can find a number of nice people perfectly willing to relive me of some of my hard earned, after tax dollars, to make it suit me. I can do this a little at a time as finances permit. I do like my rifles to shoot well. Mostly they (the CZ 550's)shoot very well. Definitely $550 is a fine price for a 375. If you buy it and don't like it you can easily get that much out of it or better. Good hunting. "D"

DRBSocrates, for that price you can't get anything better. I bought one and put on a synthetic stock, a Leupold 1.5-5 vari X III sitting in Warne quick detachables. Mine shoots like a dream.
I'm using GS Custom bullets in mine (the 265gr HV and the 270 gr FN) and can put down anything with this combination.
