Good times.....
I took these pictures last Thursday. They are of a friend of mine being indoctrinated into the world of big bores. We snuck out between sessions during an Annual General Meeting of an undisclosed Forestry Association (to protect the innocent and not-so-innocent). [Big Grin]

His first shot, with my 470 Mbogo, during initial stages of recoil. The video of this shot is great because his front foot was lifted about 6 inches off the ground.

 -

The next two shots are what fun at the range is all about for some. [Smile]

Here's the before picture...

 -

And here's the aftermath.... [Big Grin]

 -

Large grins were worn by all, and we went back to our meetings that day feeling much better. Nothing like a little good, clean, "cordite" fueled mayhem every now and then.

Regrettably, I did not manage to get any action pictures of another friend that participated. There is no doubt in my mind that further opportunities will arise in the future, however, as I am certain that another powder burning enthusiast has been bitten by the big-bore bug! [Smile]

Cheers,
Canuck

retreever,

It was just a plain ol' rock (although it was a pretty hard conglomerate type). It was hit by a 500gr Lead Cast bullet going about 2500fps. [Smile]

Cheers,
Canuck

The People for Ethical Treatment of Mineral And Young Hard Environmental Materials (PETMAYHEM) are going to have some hard words for you. They may even try to pass laws protecting innocent rocks! [Big Grin]

Prof, Yes, sadly, as a result of our single minded pursuit of self gratification, some rocks were greviously injured in the taking of those pictures. Ever more disturbing, I freely admit that I am not sorry and I am likely to do it again. I firmly believe that rocks were put on this earth to serve humans. [Wink]

Canuck, looks like fun! Haven't had the chance to shoot anything as big as a 470, but I do know what happens to water-filled milk jugs when they meet a nice 300 H&H. I don't know the specs on the round, and I only shot it once, but it was impressive. Now I need to go borrow/buy a bigger rifle and sneak up on a few unsuspecting rocks. [Big Grin]
