What is the best recoil pad out there? About 15 years ago I bought a Ruger RSM in 416 Riby for a brown bear hunt. For several reasons, I did not go on the bear hunt, and I have never actually shot the rifle. I'd like to do a buffalo hunt in 2010, so I plan to hunt with it this fall.

I'd like to replace the trigger and the factory recoil pad doesn't look so great. So, I'd like to replace it with a better performing pad.

I recently replaced a factory pad on my light Sako 300 Win Mag with a limbsaver pad. It is much more pleasant to shoot with the limbsaver.

What recoil pad would you suggest for my Ruger RSM in 416 Rigby? Thanks!!

I put a Limbsaver recoil pad on my M70. It's a 264 Win Mag, which before had a sharp and rather unpleasant recoil.
It's way better now.

I have the same rifle as you and I put a Limbsaver on my RSM. Much better than that hard factory pad.

Silver's and a sturdy shoulder
