Walter ProciukI would try a 2.5 x 8 Zeiss Conquest. More eye relief. More consistant eye relief. A Burris Signature 1.5 x 5, or a Zeiss Conquest in 1.8 x 5.5 might work as well.
Just my opinion. I think Zeiss Conquests are better scopes than anything made by or for Leupold. Burris Signatures as well. Never had to send either one back for warranty. Seven Leupolds so far, albeit, three were repeats because their warranty technicians are monkeys.

jshoneyHere is mine sporting a Leup 2x7 in Warne QR. I also Glass Bedded, change to a Limbsaver Pad and switched the front swivel out with a Brockmans Magnum Sling Swivel Stud.
It shoots the Hornady 300fmj into 2 inch groups at a hundred. I hope to have this in Africa for buff and plains game soon.

Hear is a copey of a post just 14 down from this one totaled “Scope Reticle choices for DG and PG rifles?â€
I had a chance to play with a Leupold VX-3 Scope 30mm Tube 1.5-5x 20mm Metric Illuminated German #4 Reticle that we had on a Chapuis at the gun show this weekend. I had enough time when it was slow to try different settings ect. I think this is one you should look at. The spacing in the #4 Reticle gives a fine cross hair for really precise aiming or with the illumination turned all the way up is almost like a red dot sight. You need to look through one as the pictures don’t do it justice.
I am going to put one on one of my 458 lotts.

AtkinsonOn a .375 and up I like the 1.5x5 or 1x4 Leupold. I think thats all the scope one needs for hunting and the 20 MM objective is hard to knock out of zero as compared to the big belled scopes...Magnification is the darling of the baby boomers, and is not really necessary on any big game rifle..Jack O'Connor said it all when he stated the 4X fixed was his favorite big game scope, it will do in any instances.

Jim Z.I've got a Leupold VX-II 2x7x33 on my .375 African. Great scope on low or higher power.

Len HawkinsI have a 1.8-5.5 Conquest sitting on mine and couldn't be happier with the combo- set it in some QD's or just carry a big coin to twist off the ruger rings and you should be good to go with the irons.

jstevensAny decent one that has mag. from a 1.5-6x to 2.5-8x. I like the 1.5-6x, has plenty of magnification, and plenty of close up field of view at the low side.
