shootawaySo what kind of steel do we see used here? I guess this one piece bottom metal will need to be fitted by a smith and the magazine milled to perfectly fit the stack of rounds-correct? Is this the same steel that GMA and other action makers use for their bottom metals? I believe this is definately an improvement over the original and a must have for all who own a CZ and want it to work without issue. Now,the only thing needed is a good trigger and barrel.IMO,a cartridge specific magazine will assure that the cartridges will feed all the time even fast, under heavy recoil and violent muzzle lift caused by big cartridges and stocks that are not straight. This magazine will also keep cases from being damaged or bent under recoil and keep shooting accurate. However, the original magazine was fine in this department.

500NLooks good.
Why would you not use Aircraft Grade Aluminium for something like this to cut down on the weight
of the gun. (I think CZ's are heavy and clunky).
After all, it is used to make a heap of other high quality firearm parts.

BitterrootBoy, That is an old receiver. I haven't seen one of them in a long time. That one was imported by us before CZ-USA existed.
Lookin' good !! Can't wait for the bottom metal.

Duane WiebeShootaway: The steel is 1018, like all our bottom metal. The magazine fits the action recess without modification. The vertical front wall is .100 thick.
Timney makes a very nice aftermarket trigger.

Michael RobinsonExcellent. Now I am wondering about retrofitting . . .

We'd make them with a minimum order of 30 units

DavidCDuane,
Will the Rigby drop box floor plate be available with thr 55o bottom metal?
If so what will it add to the magazine capacity for the different sized rounds?
ie... .375 H&H, .416 Rigby and .500 Jeffery class cartridges?
Lastly what will they cost?
Best,
Dave

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! Not likely. That's most likely a fluid machinists coat on work surfaces to identify areas of interference, high spots and the like.
