one for the CZ/BRNO 'historians'...
Did the CZ ZKK 602 ever come out in .404Jeff?
I am sure I saw one more than 10 years ago...I am talking about the pre-80's models that still had the pop-up peep sight on the receiver bridge.

Anybody know?

I have a partial hankering that they also chambered it in 8x68S in that era??

I can't find info online or anyone I know that has one!

Alf...you out there?
Cheers

I am sure it did. I saw one in the mid-1980's, and was curious as to what was available to reload it. I remember thinking at the time that .423" diameter bullets were a pretty odd item in the U.S. then. Nor did I particularly like the weird trigger.

I have always been a fan of the old-style Mauser-type BRNO fullstock carbines in 7X57mm, 8X57JS, and 8X60S which had regular double-set triggers, and the changed BRNO's, like this one, regardless of caliber, did nothing for me at that time. But I tend to like the recent CZ's that we're seeing now.....

While the question did they ever make, is being answered. Next question I would have were any ever imported if the answer is yes.

I see no reference to a factory 404 in my literature but it is possible the metric equivilant might have been built. I do see a 416 Rigby introduced in 1996, but I wonder even about that, it must have at the very tail end 600 series production with that date, and I wonder if they weren't just parts lying around the factory at that point.

Definately a question for Alf.

The one I saw was at a small gunshop in Copperas Cove TX right outside of Fort Hood. Most of the customers were military personnel, and it is possible that the one I saw had been brought back from Germany by someone stationed at the post. That shop did a lot of trading with the troops.....

I bought my first, new-in-the-box ZKK602 (in .375H&H) back in 1989. The owners manual that came with this rifle listed the .404 jeffrey as available for the ZKK602. I wish that I had ordered one then and there!
