Old Hornady 458 solids
I got a couple of boxes of the old "steel" round nose Hornady 458 solids in a package deal of bullets I bought. As I recall people thought these were good bullets to use on DG as they penetrated well. Is my memory correct.

As long as they aren't the brass colored ones (encapsulated), YES!

I liked them very well, they did penetrate well.

To ensure that they are the steel jacketed, good performing old style and no the poor brass encapsulated, non-steel jacketed later failures, use a magnet.

If the magnet sticks, they are good bullets. If not, they are practice only bullets.

Already used the magnet and it sticks.

They have more than a good reputation.
