snowmanVoere 375 H&H
Found a rather unique rifle a few days ago. It is a tang safety Voere rifle built on a Mauser 98 action in 375 H&H. Yes it is factory. It has a commercial 98 action (no thumb cut) yet the bolt appears to be sporterized military. The magazine is similar to the mags on std length cartridges (06-7mm mag) except it has been extended forward via a thin piece of metal riveted to the sides of the mag box. A rather light 25 1/2 inch barrel results in the rifle weighing a mere 7 lbs. That will likely get my attention with 300 gr bullets. Open sights are a front blade and a 2 leaf rear sight marked for 100 and 200 meters. Stock is quite light and surprisingly not all cracked in the tang area or around the stock crossbolt. I suspect it has been shot very little. Rifling is very clean. Recoil will be noticeable but it should be nice to carry. I didn't realize these rifles were made in 375. I also have one in 6.5x68 which is rather uncommon. Anyone know if they were made in 8x68? or perhaps 9.3x62 or 9.3x64 ?

igorrock9,3x64 Voere with 98 Mauser action is quite common in Germany. My pal bought one and built it to classic style i.e. changed stock, trigger/safety and magazine. In germany they are very cheap despite the quality which is very acceptable.

NakihunterI owned an AKA stamped rifle in 7X64 with Euro scope.
I have seen similar rifle with Voere name stamped as well.
I thought they were on the FN action. Strange about the military bolt.

SnellstromI don't know much about them but my buddy has a Voere in 30/06 and it is an amazingly accurate rifle. I find the trigger a little sketchy but other than that it is truly a smooth and accurate rifle, his has the same open sights you described, my buddy paid $200 for his with a cheap scope and rings on it.

Big Wonderful WyomingVoere still makes that rifle in 9.3x64 with a deluxe stock and butterknife bolt. They are cheap as Austrian rifles go.
Snowman , there was a case here where the US Gov't refused import because it was 'military' as it had a thumb cut. Owner however had all original documents showingb the gunhad been sold as a civilian one thoughn it also had a thumb cut !!

I might have seen this on this forum but I'm not sure.
