CEB noncon load
Has anyone here loaded the 370 grain CEB NonCon for the .416 Remington? I'd like to try and work up a good accurate load and am unsure where to start.
Thanks

pagosawingnut and I have been talking about this in several PMs over the last couple of days, so not really directed at him, but for others that might have much the same questions..

With any of the big bores and BBW#13s.... Of course we know there is a Solid that matches the NonCon... The NonCon is actually the exact same bullet as the Solid, just with a Hollow Point that brings the weight down.

In this example.. 416 caliber, the matching Solid is a 400 gr BBW#13. You can very easy use data from the Barnes Manual to work up the load for the 400 #13, and with half the bearing surface you will get less pressure, and more velocity than the barnes banded. Once you have what you want with the Solid, then I have found you can easy increase a couple of grains for the NonCon. What will happen is that the NonCon with increased velocity will print slightly higher POI than the solid, from 1/2 to 1 inch at 50 yards, depending on how hard you are pushing the lighter NonCon.

pagosawingnut For my 400H&H I used BBW #13s (.411 dia) I worked up loads for both the 400gr solid and the 370 NC as Micheal mentioned there was approx 2gr between the two. The solids leaving the end of the barrel at 2400fps and the NCs around 2450fps. Both bullets printed within a 1/2 inch of each other. I shot my Buff with the 370 NC one round and it piled up inside of 50 yards.
Great bullet best of luck...

Thanks Zephyr!
I already tried using the load I worked up for a Barnes Banded Solid with the CEB's in my Blaser R8. 1/2" center to center at 50 yards and I know that I can do better than that. My Remington in .416 shoots the Barnes TSX and BBS into a tidy little .56" at 100 so my first attempt was not bad just not as good as I want. I will get it right, Just need a little time.

I thought there was a dealer in your neck of the woods for the CEB's. Maybe it was Aus I was thinking of though. I can check with Dan.

I also am not able to import scopes from the US!

You could almost meet me in Harare and I would bring you a supply for that price. Try the reloading international. Sounds like they would be the way to go.
