ASAP whitworth help/missing hood
Rusty, congratulations on completing your long search! Soon I'll be ordering a front ramp hood for my 375. Do you want me to order one for you too? I think I remember right that your's is missing also. Midway has them for about $5 a pop. Bob

lee440Rusty, Glad to help, I am just amazed I could find it in my disorganized shop, much less in the first place I looked! I am a member of Pearland Sportsmans Club, if you are not, you can be my guest, I'll bring my work in progress, a seven pound .416 Rem. that makes my .375 Whitworth seem tame. Later! Lee.

invader66While we are on the topic, I would like to find an original wood stock for my Whitworth 375 Express. I like mine.

Lee,
I have been to Pearland to shoot in an IDPA event. Y'all have an impressive facility.
I'm a member of Bayou Rifles in Houston.
You can keep that light weight 416. I'll bring my buddy's 500 3 inch double. I'll be glad to let you shoot that one as much as you like! Just beats me up!

chargerShe came today. Mint, unfired. I wont be doing a thing other than scoping it with talley rings and a leup 2-7. Once I got the grease out,I stood at my back door and off handed 3 into an inch and a half with the irons at 70 yds.If I have 3 in the mag it doesnt like to feed the first as I use flat nose, but I'm OK with 1 in the tube and 2 in mag. Nice straight lines so almost recoiless. So far I'm a fan..PS,and a big PS. Its loaded with BNP and crown british proofs

Bob in TXI have been getting ready for my hunt in Namibia in September. I went to try some of the Federal Vital-Shok's with the 260 gr. Accubonds in my Whitworth African Express 375 H&H. They shot .813". I think I am ready to go......
My loading bench is packed up right now so I have to use factory ammo for a while.
Bob
Here is the target.
I used the accubonds last year (let's see, I think a year ago today I shot my first kudu!) with great success in Namibia. Have you had to do any tweaking on the feed? I needed to put in a stronger magazine spring. After the trip, I put in a Wisner 375 length follower that has further improved feeding (it's a little wide, and Rusty had a bit milled off for me at this machine shop).
Good luck on your trip. Bob
