I have 3 M1999's I like them. two are stainless and the other chrome moly, chrome moly is smoother by nature and you can feel the difference in them. The stainless is a .458 Lott. and a .375 H&H. The moly is 300 H&H.which with its long tapered neck feeds slicker than snot on a door knob. I had them done up as barreled actions as I like to do some stock work. I believe Ruger does the casting for the Montana actions
