sevenmagltd.Restoration work
Just back from the DSC and got a couple of names of guys who do restoration work. One is Dave Norin from Illinois and the other is a guy named Pat who works for Jackson Armory in Dallas. Anybody have experience with either guy. I recently purchased a Jeffery 404 and it needs some attention and don't want it botched. Any advice or others who do good work. Thanks

dsitemanAs John Deere said, Doug Turnbull. Have had them do some work for me and know others as well and it is first class in all respects.
Will not be the best price, but it will be the best I believe you can find.

AtkinsonTurnbull is the best for that sort of work and you will end up with a very expensive gun that is not devalued, at least in the USA.

DavidReedCheck with Pete Marzur. All of the restoration work of his I've seen on British rifles is first class.

mehulkamdarMaybe I am somewhat biased here - Dave Norin is a good friend of mine and I think that he is a brilliant gunsmith to talk to. You could get details of his work in the ACGG Journal of which he is the editor.
Dave was recently accepted as a member by the British Gun Trade for his restoration work on several fine old guns (most of which I saw during their transformation) all of which have come out brilliantly. If you visit him at Waukegan, you would see what I am talking about. You could also get a CD of his restoration work. I have it and he has given me permission to post details wherever I want to, though I have no idea how to copy them from a CD to my computer and then post them.
Good hunting!

sevenmagltd.Mehul, I decided today to send my rifle to Dave, he returned my emails promptly and outlined a plan, all of which I liked AND he was honest about what he could and couldn't do. I'll take the truth anyday over a cheap lie! Do you have a website to see some of his work?

Where/how can I obtain a copy of Dave's restoration CD? Thanks
