I am looking at building a 28 bore paradox. Can the Ruger No. 1 take the barrel thread size needed for this conversion? Thanks Elmer

The largest caliber/cartridge I know of in a #1 is .577 Nitro Express, with a .585" diameter bullet.

Since the 28 bore is about .55" caliber, it just might work, if you can open the action enough to get the cartridge in there.

elmer - where are you going to get the 28 ga rifled barrel for your paradox project ?

re: actions - tomorrow i'll check my wickliffe action kit to see if your 28 ga will go. the concern i have is that the hammer may not go down far enough but the action has a lot more beef to it than the @ 1

George's assessment would be the same as mine. Sounds like it ought to work.

I have not looked at the details but, Jamison has some well made 28 guage magnum brass that is at least 2.75" long.

Would not the .550 caliber rifle barrel work for this?
