Are there any places that anyone knows of who might be able to install a banded front sight on roughly a 1" diameter barrel? I was also curious about getting a rib mount and rear sight installed. Basically the same look of a #1 on a big barrel.

You could search for gunsmiths in your area. You could search the gunsmithing threads here at AR. Any gunsmith who does open sights should be able to help you out.

Ok, so they would actually make the large band for the front sight? I more or less didn't know if any existed for a barrel this large.

Santa Wisner Claus just dropped off a package via the USPS Reindeer crew. Barrel band front sight, can be had fron about .700 to about an inch. .750" diameter knurled hood. The extended floor plate for my CZ 550 magnums, plus-one magazine capacity. And, the wowzer rear sight me makes for Wbee. Same day, the NECG PL-2 rear three leat express rear comes. Woo-hah! I'll try and get some pictures for Boomie to post.

PS: put 27,000+ ft/lbs of ME down range in twelve seconds this afternoon with Macifej's 558gr solids. 140gr of N160 = 2400fps. LLC recoil pad, not pain, so stiffness (eight hours later) no red mark, no bruise.

By the way, where did you get that front sight band? I'm not quite sure yet whether I want to go with a hooded front sight or not.
