If i shoot a elk in the shoulder whit a 577.Tyranosaur whit a 750 grains bullet at 2400 f/s at 30 yards are the elk going to go down in the shoot

I don't know whether your elk will go down in his tracks, or not, butttttttttt! I shot a six by six at around 35 yds with a 750 gr bullet from the right barrel of a 577 NE 3" double rifle,at only 1900 fps, and he went down like the world had been yanked out from under him. In fact, by the time I recovered from the recoil, and could see, he was nowhere in sight, and my first reaction was I had missed, then I saw a leg rise, and fall,back in the grass, where he had been standing.

Well since I knocked a bull elk clean off his feet with a .54 Hawkens shooting a 460 gr Buffalo Bullet, at velocity I couldn't say, but 135gr of FFg, I would say yes, IF you hit him in the shoulder, he should get the rug yanked out from under him. If not, he sure will go down fast, the blood trail should be short, and WIDE!

500 I had the old rifle, and wanted to hunt with it, and a friend of mine in Montana, is an expert at calling Elk. He is a bow hunter, and offered to call an elk in for me at close range. The rifle weighs 13 lbs, and is not something I would want to carry all day hunting. I have had this rifle in my collection for years, and I have never taken it to Africa, because it is simply too heavy to carry, and not pleasant to shoot! Ray keeps chewing on me to take it buffalo hunting, but I dred carrying it. It works great on Black bear over bait, however.

Overkill, what Americans call Elk is really a wapiti, looks like the Europien Rd Stag.
