pertinaxHey Rob-- how's the .600 OK necked to .510 doing?
Just wondering how the long range shooting went, and what sort of chrono results you've been getting.
I'm sort of interested in building up such a monster, and I'd love to hear the details.

CaneCorsoI'd like to hear an update, as well. Still getting .5 MOA?

fritz454Well. I'm not Rob but have been shooting mine, although in a really crappy stock. No chronograph numbers to shair but is does seem to be realitively flat and very accurate. Recoil is very tolerable. I wouldn't push it too much. I've been up around 2300 and it is begining to let you know its there. This may make a nice 100 yd benchrest gun.
Hopefully Rob will chime in as he has much more trigger time on this one than I do. All in all it's a winner, as is the 550-600, 474-600, The 458-600 is a bit overbore but really fun to shoot light pistol bullets out of at over 3200 fps. Does a number on water jugs.

RobgunbuilderI have not done much since my Mcmillan actioned Unlimited 1000yrd gun was damaged by faulty CCI primers. I had the 510-.600 barrel on it and shot a 4.5 inch group. Like John's results 2300-2400 fps is about max with 800 gr bore riders. This cartridge has alot of potential as a 1000yrd benchrest caliber.-Rob

CaneCorsoWe've got a nice 1000 yard range in Pala (North County San Diego). Next time you guys are out this way, I'd love to see it shoot.
