CanuckIf I am not mistaken, I think JJHACK really likes the 450 Barnes X for his 458 Lott. You might want to get his opinion.
I don't have any experience with the 400 gr X, hopefully someone here can help you out.

I'm shooting 400gr X's out of my Lott at 2300fps. I would think that you can get 2300 out of the winmag, I dont have the data infront of me. Anyways accuracy is outstanding. Havent shot anything with it yet (knock on wood) and the bullets I have recovered I lost atleast 1 petal on them.
Wish I could help ya more.

JoelSOh and the 400gr XFB's are a hair longer than the regular ole X's. Atleast the batch I got from great northern guns were.

tsturmI think I found the correct combo. 77.0g H335 is the most accurate 1" @ 100 yds. That will shure do for all of my needs! Thanks for the replys!!

KMuleinAKI have used the Barnes 400gr. X #45815 in front of 85 gr. of IMR4064 and achieved average of 2480 fps from a 23.5" barrel in a 450 Ackley - works well on moose -- a new load I'm working on is the same bullet in front of 84.0 - 86.0 grains of IMR4895, have not chronied yet but so far demonstrates good accuracy (ave. 1.6" @ 100yds.) - This bullet will work very well on bear from 2200-2500 fps with the IMR4895 load giving a bit more of a "jab" in recoil, still very manageable - KMule
