questions on the 375's
Got a couple of questions. I was looking throua few of my relding manuals the other day and noticed that the 375 h&h loads used more powder than the 375 ruger loads of the same bullet and powder. Why is that? The case capacity of the ruger is greater and I thought you could put a little more powder in with safe pressures. According to the one manual, more powder went into the h&h with less pressure. Does this have to do with case design? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The Ruger case holds more powder or water..but all things considered one is as good as the other balistically, no distinguishable difference. Damn did I spell that right?

I am sure the Ruger is the more efficient of the two for whatever that's worth, not much is my guess. efficiency in rifles is something that has always miffed me, who cares?

I like that Ruger case, its the real deal, but not enough for me to run out and ditch my old 375 H&H, that's loaded with fond memories...

I think the recoil with the .375 Ruger is sharper than the recoil with the .375 H&H. Ballistically they are so similar, I will stick with the more pleasant shooting .375 H&H.
