Who has a Caprivi 375? What do you like or don't like?
Would you choose a Caprivi or M70 Safari?

Got my Kimber Caprivi 375H&H last December, and have done quite a lot of shooting with it. I installed a Zeiss scope using Leupold the LX mounting system, and couldn't be happier. I particularly like how accurate it is right out of the box. Its a slimmer type of stock - not chunky like some guns - that fits my medium sized hands well.

I got a CZ550 in 375 at the same time, and had to spend $$ to get it as accurate as the Caprivi.

Dislike: The front bead sight on the Caprivi comes from the factory bottomed out, and will need to be raised by set screws to proper height. This is the only complaint I could think of.

But someday, I will own a Win 70 Safari, since I somehow turned into a collector it seems.

Just some trivia:
The Kimber Caprivi has a removable washer recoil lug at the action-barrel screw-together, not integral. This fact is not-so-cleverly almost hidden by a sleeve at the front receiver ring of the action that conceals the washer.

The Winchester M70 has an integral recoil lug on the action, like most really good rifles do.

I have a CZ and a Caprivi in .375. If I could do it all over again, I would have never purchased the Kimber, its a pretty rifle but not as accurate or as sturdy as the CZ.

I had a Safari Express in .375 and sold it. For me the Safari Express is too heavy for a .375 and the stock design is rather clunky. If I were buying a Safari Express I would find one in .416 or .458.

I have a very late Model 70 LH Safari Express .375 and love it. MOA or less out of the box, had a $40.00 trigger job done, have taken game from Canadian whitetail to Cape Buff with it and it's my favorite rifle, even though I own a couple of custom guns that are much more pricy.

I find it well constructed, well balanced and shoot it often, as recently as yesterday. Sorry, adrook, old buddy, we disagree wholeheartedly on this one. There are no flies on this rifle.

Can't comment on the Caprivi, but it seems pricy. Another grand or maybe a little more and you're into a good used Dakota.

No disagreement friend, just different strokes for different folks. I will add that the one I had was deadly accurate and once Mark Penrod had gone over it it was smooth as silk and fed slicker than snot but believe it or not, my M70 Stainless Classic .375 with the tupperware stock just seems to fit me better and shoots and functions (again after Mark's tuning) just as well.

I agree the Kimber seems a little spendy for what you are getting and I also agree with RIP on the need for a proper recoil lug, for that reason alone I would prefer the M70 over the Caprivi.
