I was totally blown away, gobsmacked even!

I had saved my pennies for almost a year. Head Trauma put his CZ 416 Rigby up for sale. We already have that model and caliber of rifle, but my wife wanted one for her.

My disease got ugly for several months, but Head Trauma was totally gracious, and even offered to refund the downstroke. I got better, made a little money and finally paid for the rifle. Well, I finally picked it up from my dealer today.

The rifle is beautiful, and completely worked over; re-cut checkering, barrel is bobbed a touch for handiness, three-position wing safety, Winchester bolt handle, THREE cross bolts, beautiful bluing and an awesome finish on the wood.

Head Trauma is a class act; if I am able to become half the straight shooter that he is, I will be a happy man indeed.

Enjoy building up more loads in the new rifle.

R17 can work on the high end loads,
and I'll bet a call to Hodgdon can find some nice H4895 loads for your wife.

Do keep us in the loop, after you post the rifle pictures.

Hey, it's a CZ and doesn't even need any crossbolts because it has a second lug on the barrel in the forearm.
That stock is set to take about anything a shoulder mounted rifle can throw at a person.

Talley rings.

This an older rifle that came with two cross bolts, I added the third cross bolt in front of the bolt handle.

The balance on the rifle is absolutely perfect. The barrel is shortened to 21". The fiber optic bead up front just glows in the shallow "V" rear sight.

Who did the checkering makeover? Lois wants him/her/me to do the same to the other CZ 416 Rigby in the house.

PS I shot the new to me rifle this morning. It took good care of the Tom _ _ _ that was beating up one of the land lord's pets. I made sure to, "use enough gun."
