500grainsRe: Weekend with the 600 OK
John,
With high level work product like that, I think Ed can expect a lot more orders for these.

fritz454Jeffery, I wouldn't use the word jog. I carried it at a moderate walk on level areas and a slow walk going up hill. I've got two bad knees from contact sports when I was younger and my running days are well behind me.
One other thing I wanted to add is how easy it is to clean. I had very little fouling. Rob, George have you noticed the same thing. I wonder if Pac-Nor did an exceptional good job on the barrels or if it's the bullets. I've been shooting my turned bullets exclusively so I wonder if that's it. Anyway, I fired off 41 shots and it took one stroke of solvent, a few brush strokes, two dry patches and the third was clean. I passed one with a bit of oil and I was done. This is quickly becoming my favorite rifle.
Also, I took a couple of shots into a pine stump. It was at least 2.5 feet in diameter and both the 725 gr and the 900 gr bullets went through. The stump was recently cut and still had a good bit of moisture and sap in it. Thats plenty of penetration in my opinion. These elk better look out in a couple of months. Maybe Ill have to try it out on a bison as well.

GeorgeSJohn,
My PacNor (.470 Capstick) barrel cleans up very easily, too. They are very good barrels.

Bwana-beJohn, I hope you mean it, 'cause plan is to move the fam to MT next spring.

I'll get my lawyer to draw up the form.
... just figured the recoil of that 725g at like 130 ft lb.

I've felt numerous 50-60 ft lb loads, but I really have no notion of what that must be like.
Tell you what: I'll come out and pop off a 725g at somewhere around 1900 fps w/o brake, to see what I'm getting into, then we'll see about the other. Even
with brake, I'm impressed!
