Sorry, George, but I can offer no advise from first hand experience, so I shall not comment on your question.

However, if it isn't too much trouble, I was wondering were in South America you are going, and who your hunt is with?

George: these are big, tough animals. You don�t say where will you hunt them BTW. Some zones are very difficult due to the beasts being almost always found in low water. Others have heavy brush and visibility is limited...I think that your usual selection in caliber and bullets is perfect. My experience indicates that the Asiatic is easier to put down but dies hard, more like a moose.
