Recommendations Needed on Next Big Bore
I have caught the big bore bug in a big way (say that 5 times fast) after buying, reloading, and shooting my first .45-70 (Marlin Guide Gun). I am now looking for a bigger bore to experiment with. Can be lever action, single shot, or bolt action. Any recommendations? Man, this stuff is fun!!

<500 AHR>
Shark Bait,

Get a 500 AHR and join the 500 + club! www.hunting-rifles.com Look under DGR rifles. This is one mean machine. You could also opt for the 585 AHR same website. The 585 AHR is essentially a 585 Nyati. Anything less is just that!

Go the whole hog and get a .585 Nyatti or .585 AHR, we were like you and after our 45/70's we went to a .416 Rigby but this was not enough, we were thinking of the .500 A2 but we thought if we are going that far might as well do the .585.

Regards PC.

Get a 458 Winchester without any of the counter recoiling aids like brake, soft pad, etc. and then shoot, shoot, and shoot until your shoulder cannot feel any recoil any more and then move up another notch. Good luck. Ming

I presently have a 500 AHR. Had a 505 Gibbs. I would say that the 500 AHR or 500 Jeffery would be the next logical step up in raw horsepower. Even the 470 Capstick or wildcat 470/416 Rigby would be a good step up.
