500grainsA new buttstock could be made, then it would be both a lefty and a righty! On a snap action like that, everything is ambidexterous except the cheekpiece.

Well, you could always restock it.

Whitworth700 nitro -- you're getting rid of your namesake! What are you going to replace it with?

MinkmanWhat about the double trigger?
When we were kids, my friend shot lefty with a right handed double 12gauge. The result was bruising caused by the shotgun doubling. This cost him more shells, but he did get every rabbit he shot at.

700 nitrosearcy will gladly make the 700 nitro a righty restock and trigger chage for about 2500$ if i sell the 700 ill probably replace it with something small like the 577 nitro..........
and yes the searcy at westley richards is mine......ill even take a gun and cash in trade......
Just learn to shoot the rear trigger first to avoid doubling, like Will does, and restock with a cheekpiece on both sides of the butt. This will allow truly ambidextrous performance.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Such a rifle, having 2 cheekpieces, 2 triggers and 2 barrels, could be used by Siamese twins who both want to pull the trigger on an elephant.
But George S. is a leftie. Maybe he is going to buy it.
Ah, somebody did not think it was funny.
Might still require restocking as why was the cheekpiece there to start with? Cast off and cast on might still be a problem either way.

AtkinsonCut the cheek piece off, it really serves no purpose anyway, then have the stock bent for cast off for a right handed shooter, if it will bend, have to talk to the stock bending experts on that one...

ChopperGuyAs most any lefty can attest, you rarely find double triggers in the left hand configuration. Having a cast on stock, or one bent, is the most you'll usually find for left-handed shooters.
I'm a lefty and have been shooting double triggers for many years on both shotguns and now rifles. Never had any of them double on me no matter the caliber (16 bore, 12 bore, .30-06, and now 500/416).
A stock that's too long can cause more doubling problems than the trigger configuration ever could.
I agree with Ray, cut off the cheek piece and have it bent for a righty, if necessary, and be money ahead.
Mike

AtkinsonI am not sure it will bend to cast off for a right handed shooter, thats a lot of bend, but I know it could be bent straight, and thats close enough for shooting one elephant, no one shoots more than one animal with a .700 N.E.

Tim CarneyOn lefty triggers, the British classic fix is to heat and turn the triggers (made of mild steel) so you do not risk doubling). Works well.
