PanchoFriends Blaser
A good friend of mine just got back from Zimbabwe. He reported that he did not get his elephant.
After many days of tracking and evaluating, he approached to approx 50 feet and heard the ominous "click". He had time to cycle the action 2 more times and all he got was two more "clicks".
Took the rifle back to camp and whatever was wrong with it had resolved itself and it fired just fiine. He's not much fan of his Blaser rifle anymore.

BiebsOperator error....you can't short-stroke a Blaser. Do you think being in front of an Elephant may have had something to do with it? :-)

Sounds like buck fever to me.

crbutlerI don’t get that.
I dry fired, shot, and carried my DGR’s until I felt absolutely prepared with them.
Finding a good elephant is hard enough to add gun issues to it.
It also seems the Blaser has some idiosyncrasy to it that causes folks to have more trouble with it than other types of rifles.
Not sure why, but it’s definitely there.
By the way, Biebs you are misspelling it. The Blaser uses the “farce” not the force!

Michael RobinsonI have three Blasers and even if I try (and I have fooled around and tried) I can't make this happen with any of them. Never the slightest hiccup in the field.

SaeedBlasers are made for non thinking shooters.
Reminds me of all the "smart" things one can buy now!
Whoever invented the Blaser, has absolutely no clue what a rifle should be.
Mike,
I have had many Blasers through here, with some, you can easily have this problem.
What happens is the shooter just clicks the bolt back, and thumps it forward.
This can create two problems.
The bolt does not go back far enough to pick a new round, and sometimes, even if it does, the bolt does not lock!!
Creating a misfire.
I have one Blaser in our shooting range, and I tell everyone who comes to shoot it to make sure the bolt is fully closed forward, by pushing on it.
