todbartell?Hornady .4106 cal 340 gr. BTSP?
416 caliber, sorry.
I was flipping through a Gun Digest from 1995, and was looking at the list of Hornady bullets. I saw a picture of a 340 gr. boat tail, and since they aren't made anymore, I was wondering if anybody used these on game, what the BC was, etc. Was there not enough demand for this bullet? Seems to me it would be a good choice for elk and moose hunting.

todbartellWell, I finally heard back from Hornady. Not bad, it's only been 6 weeks or so.
Here's what they said :
quote:
The bullet was never released to the public. We sent out samples and got mixed results so the bullet was not produced.
And there you go, another solved mystery. ![[Big Grin]](images/icons/grin.gif)

PCThat is a pity actually, any chance more interest might be around now due to the profliferation of CZ's weapon of mass destruction the CZ 550 in .416 Rigby at a great price ??
