Left-handed .416 Remington Needed
I have a friend who is looking for a left-handed Model 70 (CRF) chambered in .416 Remington and would appreciate any help you can provide....he can't afford a custom shop rifle.

Sort of off post but I do have a NIB Left Handed Remington 700 .416 from there Custom shop in stainless with a muzzle brake attached. Or you can pick a Win70 LH 375H&H Safari Model in blued steel with walnut stock new, but no box. The Rem is $1,300. The W70 is $975. I will be leaving the area for 10 days starting on Monday in case he is interested.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Considering that no one makes a production left handed 416 Rem, you might want to look at the M70 in 375 H&H and rebarrel it. Of course then your getting over $1,200. I bought the left handed M70 in 375 H&H for less than $1,000 and couldn't be happier.

There's an ad in Shotgun News from one of the big advertisers (I forget which one), listing NIB Win M-70 Safari Express rifles, LEFT HAND, for $889. That's in .375 H&H, .416 Rem, and .458 Win-Mag.

That's a good deal; I paid $1K for mine a few years ago. (And mine has zero problems-- no horror stories here. Shoots "cloverleafs" at 100 yards, too.)

I tossed that issue, or I'd give full specifics.

pertinax,

That has to be a typo. USRAC never offered the Safari Express LH in .416 or .458.

The only lefties offered by USRAC in larger than 375 H&H is in the Custom Safari Express

Model 70, Custom Safari Express (Left Hand Models)

535919138 375 H&H Mag. $3,104
535919139 416 Rem. Mag. $3,104
535919144 458 Win. Mag. $3,104
535919154 458 Lott $3,104
535919158 375 Ultra Mag.$3,104
535919159 416 Rigby $2,790

Why the 416 Rigby is cheaper, I don't know.

If you know of anyone selling these for less than $1,000 let me know, I'll buy one of each!

And the LH Custom African Express models, ranging from $3998 for the .458 Win. Mag., .470 Capstick, .458 Lott, and .416 Rigby to $4663 for the .375H&H and .416 Rem.

I think for $4000, I'd go with Dennis Olson or Mark Penrod.

Maybe it was a typo-- being left-handed, I noticed and remembered the ad.

Sorry to get anyone's hopes up.

I just ordered a M 70 African in 416rem. from the Winchester Custom Shop in left hand. They no longer offer the 416 Rigby

Talk to Karl at Wff Hein. They can build one for you for the same price as a custom shop rifle.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!!
