Scope for .378 wea recoil?
Yesterday I got a .378 wea rifle with a Leupold VAR-XIII 1,5 - 5 scope.

I for sure know that the scopes is very good for teh rifle - but I got a chance to change teh scope for a Zeiss 2,5-10x48 which I would like very much for another hunting rilfe.

The .378 wea will just be used for fun, I have shot game with teh rifle before, but actually I think the calibers is to much of a good thing for hunting!

So what I'm looking for is advice on a fairly cheap scope that could be relay on with the recoil of the .378 wea.

Regards

You probably have the best scope on top of your 378 already in my opinion.
If you have a 378 with a factory muzzle brake the eye relief you need from a scope will not be as critical as a rifle without the brake.
I personally would buy a Leupold for this rifle,
I put a 6X42 Leupold on my 378 Lazer mark when I had it as this scope has about 5 inches of usable eye relief, which is critical if you want to use it without a thought to being touched by the scope.
All the best,
Charlie.

I have a 2-7x33 Vari X11 on my .416 Rigby (the old model) which is the same as the VX1 now and sells for 175US there abouts. It will handle the recoil and has good ER and FOV

I'm going through the same delema trying to decide how to scope my 378 (Deluxe model with Accubrake).I've pretty much decided on a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x40mm with an elevation target turret, but am being lured by the 6x42 with the turret.Won't get around to scopeing it till December when I'm done hunting so I have plenty of time to debate with myself over it. Personaly,I think if you aren't planning on shooting over 300 yards, the 1.5-5x would be fine.I don't know what kind of eye relief the Zeiss has,but it should be fine if your rifle has an Accubrake or something simmilar. If it's unbraked,I'd leave the 1.5-5x on it.
