Of the three free drawings I can easily find, which is correct for Hornady brass?

Mike BrooksThere are several 450/400 cartridges. 3 1/4", the 3", as well as some BP ones. IIRC Hornady makes brass for 2 and cartridges for 1.

RustyThe 450/400 3 inch started life as a Nitro powder round. The 450/400 3 1/4 started life as a Black Powder round and later converted to Cordite.
My 450/400 3 inch shoots a .408 caliber bullet. I have a good friend who has a 450/400 3 inch same make as mine and he shoot .411 caliber bullets.
The new Hornady ammo utilizes a .410 caliber bullet. Current C.I.P. standards call for the round to use a .410 caliber bullet. As far as I know all modern manufacturer of double rifles now use the new C.I.P. standard and the rifles are designed to shoot .410 caliber bullets.
Hornady says that their ammo can be used in .408/.410./.411 rifles.
I seem to remember that the current C.I.P. dimensions the 450/400 3 inch has double radius shoulders?

Hornady better have used the new CIP standard.
The loaddata drawing linked above does agree with the CIP standard of May 15, 2002.
Exactly right on all the diameters and lengths and the shoulder angle is within rounding accuracy.
That CIP standard shows a shoulder junction cone angle of 15-degrees-10'-27".
Divide that by two for the "shoulder angle."

As much as the US / some arms companies think they rule the world,
it would make it a bit hard to sell ammo in Europe if they didn't adhere to the specs.
