drewhenrytntSmiles all Around Shootin the 600!
I just got back from the range. Shot about half a box of Wayne's factory loads 600 OverKill. With a break it is easy shooting. I got two kids that were astounded by it to shoot it--with their parents permission. They were 14 and 12. The older one hunts a lot of waterfowl with his dad and says they regularly shoot 3.5 12s and 10s. I told him no problem. Both of the kids hit the target at 25yds. I even shot another round without the break, after saying I wouldn't do it again. This time it didn't seem so bad. Wonder what the heck is going on? They asked me how I felt and I told them I wouldn't cry till I got home

) This gun is really not as bad as I thought. With a merc tube I might be able to shoot it prone!

CCMDocTold ya! Not a problem at all to shoot without the brake in Wayne's handiwork. I'm betting you were tensed up the last time and that's why it felt so brutal.
Glad you gave it another try. As for the kids, my equally young nephews line up to shoot mine.

drewhenrytntI really got get a loadin' press now! I can see blowing through 100rnds easy. I have heard of a 200yd shot some guy made on a bear. I can't imagine doing it without a scope and I can't imagine a scope without a merc tube. Would that take the fun out of this ctg?

BiebsIt is a rather forgiving cartridge for what it delivers on the terminal end. It is a great cartridge to illustrate the "punch vs push" analogy.

drewhenrytntI liked it so much, I'll be competing with it at the Hoot&Shoot in the spring. Providing I don't shoot up all my ammo first
