Gringo Cazador404 jeffery back from Dennis Olson
This is my 404 barreled action I got back today. You might say I am somewhat excited.
Dewight Marshal mounted the NECG sites, Gentry Barrel band and installed the barrel. Dewight also worked on the bolt face to close on a round in the chamber and worked on the trigger.
I had Dennis Olson work on the feeding, it feeds 4 down slicker than snot. I bought Sunny-hill bottom metal and Dennis used the factory follower and factory box.
Now I have to start on a pattern for the stock. I leaned a hard lesson with the stock I and originaly planned to use. I thought I could have one turned and leave extra wood on the bottom. Didn't come out as planned, I took to much off the front. Didn't matter anyway, it was to shallow in the back to start with. The lesson I leaned was......better have the right pattern to start with. Now I will have a rather expensive pattern.
Will be looking at a couple of pieces of Bastone latter in the week I hope.
