What actually happened to Waffinfabrik Hein?
I reported the fraud to ATF, basically telling them my rifle (with serial number) had been sold to more than one client (he kept emailing the picure of my action to several of his customers as different guns). ATF couldn't care less.

Jorge,

Did you ever get a rifle made/purchased elsewhere? I wasn't following the original threads back when.

Mac: While at DSC earlier this month, I was measured for a Verney-Carron double and before that I purchased a Sabbati in 450NE that shoots 1" groups and I've very happy with it. That's about as far as I'll go with custom rifles, the Hein experienced pretty well soured me so I'll not go that route again. jorge

I know you and I havent been on friendly terms but you cant let one bad apple in the bunch spoil the joy of owning a custom gun theres good and bad in every aspect of custom work from homes to hot rods to rifles not all are bad just gotta stick to a name that has a history of consistent work

I'll buy one that is ready made if it fits me and I like it, but I'm just not going that route again, the wait, etc. A good friend of mine who posts here as a moderator had to wait FOUR YEARS for his custom and from a well-known maker. Just too long for me laying out that much money. I am having a Shiloh-Sharps made (my second) but that's about as far as I'll go.

ATF. I see.
Generally BATFE is concerned with laws pertaining to firearms, explosives, etc. What's been happening here, I would think, would be more like consumer fraud. We don't even know if Hein completed the rifles or not, but we're pretty certain that what he made wouldn't violate any firearms laws since they are sporting rifles.

Anyway, here is a link which allows you to report consumer fraud, just in case anyone is interested.

Yeah but they are in RSA. THere are some great makers here on AR like Wiebe and others, but that's ok, I'll stick with what I have for now.
