Heym 88B
Anyone own a Heym 88B (boxlock or sidelock)?

Just the regular model 88B, not the 88B "Safari."

I'm looking for someone to provide some close-up photos of the action.

Anyone?

Will use to shoot elephant with one of those. He could tell you what you want to know, but pictures ... ???

It is a fine gun, second to Merkel for price reasons in my choices, but you get what you pay for, and the Heym is more ...

Got one in .470 NE. I absolutely love the gun. It comes up like a dream and is well balanced and accurate. Mine was a bit light at 9 3/4 lbs. I added a small mercury tube and now at 10 lb. 2 oz. it's perfect!

I had an 88B (or so it was marked) in 375 H&H. What is the differance in it and a "Safari". MIne was an old one that is currently in the shop for sale. Very nice gun but have seen no differance in it's action and the one on a friends 470NE. Both look the same to me.

From general appearance, the frame bolsters are different than the 88b safari.

Don't know what mine was. The test target and paperwork (original) was marked "88B Safari" but looking at a Heym catalog the bolsters are like the 88B. This is an older gun and does not have cheekpiece and does have an ejector/extractor selector switch in the forearm iron. Don't remember what the date was on the test target. Hope this helps. Shot like gangbusters, kinda sorry I traded it.
