CZ550 to 375 Weatherby
Anyone here ever rechambered a CZ550 375 H&H to 375 Weatherby? I'm talking a simple rechamber and keeping the OEM barrel, sights etc.

No, but I had my ZKK-602 opened up to .375 Weatherby about 3 months before Weatherby brought it back.

Hey man, I did. It works great. The 2001 spec .375 Weatherby throat allows you to load the .375 Weatherby to > 3.750" COL (instead of the usual ~ 3.600") in the CZ box, which is about 3.840" long. You can get better than 2800 fps with the 25" barrel of the CZ using H4350 with 300 grainers. I did. Accurate too.

Start with 80 grains of H4350 and stop around 88 grains. Chronograph along the way. Pick the load that you and the rifle like best.
This would be the redneck version of Saeed's .375/404, only better since you can easily get 5 down in the box and he can't.

Since you can still shoot .375 H&H ammo with it, it out-KISS'es Saeed's old KISS-er, on another level too.

You just figured out the ultimate KISS Principle rifle. The "stealth" Weatherby, as lawndart called it, looks like just another .375 H&H. thumb

Zeke , try it ,I took Rip's advice on the 375 WBY a while back and had a Cheap plastic stock model 70 rechambered and it is awesome. Mine will shoot several loads of H&H or WBY without scope adjustments, ie same point of impact.

Have any of you tried shooting 350 grain bullets, or even 380 grain Rhinos, in your rigs? What velocities do you get? I'm just thinking, if you can shoot the 380 grainers at 2400fps+, with the option of also shooting factory .375 H&H 270 grainers in the same rifle, you may have the most versatile caliber that exists.

The CZ 550 Magnum rechambered to .375 Weatherby (25" barrel and 3.840" box) would easily exceed 2600 fps with the 350-grain bullets. It should easily exceed 2400 fps with 380 grainers. Versatile, yes.

One of my old loads in the M70 .375 Weatherby with 3.6" box and less than 3.600" COL, in 24" barrel:

Hornady basic brass
350-grain Barnes Original RNSP
GM215M or F215 primer
Norma MRP 90.0 grains
MV = 2563 fps
Good accuracy and no presure signs.

Use the roomier Norma-made brass and the 3.75" COL and the 25" barrel, and the sky is the limit. thumb

.395/340-grain bullets will eliminate the need for any others.
2700 fps in a 26" barreled .395 GSC.
2900 fps in a 26" barreled .395 Tatanka.
