Thomas M450 Rigby project question(s)
I'm seeing the beginning of the end for my 450 Rigby project. I just got the permit for the barrel, the barrel is the mail to me from the dealer so it's "clear to go"
(I'm rebarreling a CZ550 in 416 Rigby)
Would any of you have some recomendations about the weight of the new barrel? I'm thinking about 2 pounds hevyer than the CZ barrel..? (No break)
Does the tripple X Pachmayr pad have a "real" name, it seems no dealer here in sweden have heard of it. Any dealer in the US that will ship one to europe?
Thankfull for all advices!

MagnarRegarding the Pachmayr, try one of these:
Pachmayr 1 Pachmayr 2 Midway Norway Pachmayr Please please keep us updated on your project as I am about to go down that road myself.

Lawdog_GaryThomas M,
Nice to know there is another person out there that likes the .450 Rigby. I'm building mine on a .416 Rigby Ruger M77 Magnum action. Maybe we can compare loads sometime. My rifle will weight at 11.25 pounds including mercury insert but without scope. Keep in touch when you get yours down. Lawdog

OldsargeRather than put all the weight into the barrel, I'd go for mercury inserts. I know that some don't believe in them but I find my 10.25 lb. Brno .450 quite manageable and when the buffalo are close it's more of "Recoil? What recoil? This thing don't recoil!" And mine hasn't go any $(&^%&^! break on it either!
