Finally shot my 444 marlin in 94 big bore lots of fun !-
I scrapped together some loads for my 444 .I have about half a pound of reloader and a bunch of Speer
200 grain hollow points .I started with just 38 grains and man I.hit the jackpot
The first time on.accuracy .I know it's a reduced load but I have not felt good lately from dang lymes
Disease about killing me so I said let's do the fun to shoot load first .It shot a little clover leaf at 50 yards and kept throwing them in that hole .It was fun as heck .I.Will try some 300 grain loads soon working up not the fire breathing ones that look like a tank firing from this barrel .Hopefully this lymes disease a vs what it's doing to my heart goes away headed to the doctors Friday .I am fishing and shooting the next two days for just the fun of it .I hope I.get to get my neighbor to shoot some too .I.built a range in my back yard last year .
I.told my neighbor today we ought to build a bowling ball cannon I have the perfict place to shoot it up.The mountain lots of fun and a really big bore .I always appreciate Y'alls help on here .Hope I get to meet a few of y'all one day and go hunting and shooting .All my 416 shooting.buddies are gone quit shooting and hunting early in life .Hope y'all have lots of fun shooting stay safe always let the big bores keep shooting Mike

YEAH...the 444 M is a very neat cartridge in ANY rifle platform. GOTO Beartooth's 444 articles for LOTSA good info on the 444 M. I've shot from 180 to 405 gr(Beartooth's WLNGC), jacketed and cast, rifle and pistol bullets AND even some 444 M trimmed cased at 1.8" to see how they would fare for use where the shorter cases were required...in my Marlin...they did OK...basically a 44 Mag Magnum.

My favorite load is the 300 gr HP-XTP HORNADY AND RL-7 at 2.63" COAL(in MY 'SMITHED GUN, it will feed but NOT EJECT A LOADED CASE without removing the lever or shooting the round) I keep it loaded up and close at hand...very accurate. I also like Beartooths 250 gr LFNGC, Nosler 250 Parts and Hornady 265 FTX's. There are a bunch of good bullets for the 444...do YOUR job and it will do it's.

I am going to try the 300-grain xtp bullets next with aa1680 .
I just have to get use to the trigger and hammer fall delay after not shooting a
Lever gun so long.I want rifle get a bullet mold for this rifle too .I am glad I got
It the guy I got it from had finished off 38 black bears with It while guiding in Arkansas .
He liked the 265 grain hornady best said it worked awesome on bears .There are so many combinations
For this rifle it's awesome.I want to try some of the shotshellloads I saw for it too .I don't like the high scope mount I have on it but a low mount puts the iron sites in the scope .It had a weaver 1x3 scope
On in but I changed it to a 3x9 Nikon monarch .I think this will be an awesome bear gun here in the mountains where I live .It's thick and a pain to tote my 24-inch barreled 338 in even though I trust it way
More than this gun on bears .Here if you shoot something you better kill it in their tracks or off the mountains it goes and you usually don't find it unless you have a tracking dog .Hopefully with enough practice I am as good with this rifle as I am my old 338 win Ruger 77 '

Dgr: Good luck with the Lyme. It can be devastating. Glad you are making some time for having fun.
