9.3 X375 Wea or RUM or 9.3- 338 Lapua?
After 51 views and no replies in the wildcat forum, I thought this might be a better place to post this big bore question

So, has anyone come up with a 9.3 X375 Wea or RUM or 9.3- 338 Lapua? How might they compare to the .366 DGW (about a 250gr @3253fps or 300gr @2911fps- Source: Cartridges o The World, 10th ed.)?

I see an advantage as to increased velocities, slightly less recoil and better S.D.s (with less weight) over reg. 375s with a 9.3 but what are some disadvantages, aside from being a wildcat?

Reasoning would be to have a DG caliber that is flatter shooting and better penetrating than a 375 for use on North american animals (elk, moose, grizzly, brown)and African Plains game. A 9.3 286 gr. Partition� has a B. C.- .482 and S.D- .307 vs. a 375 300 gr. Partition� B.C.- .398 and S.D. .305

The 9.3x70 is a legitimate cartridge and has been around for about 70 years, based on the .404 Jeffery case. It would be about the same as using an RUM case nowadays. There is an article on it here under the GUNS link.

The 9.3x70mm is based on the .404J, and very similar to what a .375 Dakota, necked down to 9.3, would be.

Unfortunately, I do not have any info on water capacities in order to compare possible powder volumes for these parent cases. That would be interesting.

Anyone with max. powder\water capacities (whichever is useful to do a proper comparison)or an internet source\book for the following cases:

1. 375 Weatherby
2. 375 RUM
3. 375 Dakota
4. 338 Lapua
5. 338 Excaliber
6. 404 J
7. 416 Rigby
8. 366 DGW

How much should I reduce\increase these capacities to compensate for necking them up or down to 9.3? (or am I really pushing tricky math formulas with this?)
