TanooseRecoil pads?
I have decided to buy a 458 Lott in either the Ruger M77RSM MKII or the CZ American Safari (leaning toward the Ruger)I was thinking about the pachmayr decelerator, as they have worked for me in the past on a 338 and a 45/70. Are there any others i should consider ? Thanks Tanoose

500grainsThe Pachmyr F990 is ugly but absorbs more recoil. As does the Answer System spring-loaded pad.

driverHello,
I have three RSM's and each have ended up with the Kick Killer leather lace up pad and can tell you it works wonders on the 458Lott and the 416 Rigby. Not really needed on the 375.
Not wanting to alter the stock in any way is the reason I used it, but can say after a while it grows on you and is a quality product. Believe Cabela's offers them most of the time.

jstevensI like the Limbsaver pad better than any other pad on a hard kicker. I haven't had one on for enough years to tell yet whether they hold their shape, etc. but they work. I have one on my RSM .416 Rigby.

JKSLimbsaver for me on my RSM Rigby and Lott. That being said anything is better than the stock "pad" on the RSM.

There are those that do, those that dream, and those that only read about it and then post their "expertise" on AR!

<Hunter Formerly Known As Texas Hunter>I've got Limbsavers on my RugerRSM .458 Lott and my Remington 700 BDL .338 RUM. They work very well.

470 MbogoI have to put in a vote for the F990. It is the best pad I've found for real kickers. I'm refering to 90 plus ft lbs of recoil. It also helps tame the recoil velocity.
Take care,
Dave

ConMy 458Lott had an F990 ...I didnt like it as it looked bad and felt almost too soft ... but boy did it soak up recoil.
Rob's idea of covering it in leather sounds like a fantastic idea ... might try that on the next project.
Cheers...

ClaymanThe decelerator is the go-to choice (mainly for the color and size choices), but I suspect the Limbsaver would work better because it's a little squishier.

How do you go about covering the F990 in leather? Can you get rid of the white line?
Thanks
